Thirst of night

Thirst of night

A Poem by Ghiasquared

Eyes open to night painted upon these walls,
The worlds slumber yet uninterrupted,
Memories of sleep's dreams fade away,
Bits and pieces tugging into slumber once more,

Thirst fights against the sirens of dream,
Begrudgingly the body complies,
The outward world lighting the path,
Blurred vision sways the stagger,

The elixir of the gods pours into cup,
With sounds of splashing waterfalls,
With head tilted it is drained quickly,
Body rejoices with thirst slaked,

The trudging journey back to nights womb,
Peace resounds with silence's conversation,
Covering with warm wool's protection,
Eyes close and dreams consume once more.
