Spring Will Always Come

Spring Will Always Come

A Poem by Kaylee Guise
"

This is my first post here on the Writers' Cafe, and is also my first and only published work. It was published in an anthology of writings from my high school's Creative Writing classes.

"
A dismal vapor hangs low,
Descending upon me.
I choke on the wintry toxins
That teem in my lungs.

Poisonous snowflakes
Swirl through the frigid atmosphere.
They scald my fragile state,
But they are omnipresent

In this demented reality.

I've plummeted below zero,
Dug my way beneath the ground.
I tumble down this tunnel of despair.
Hibernation is not key,
But it is more ideal to me
Here in this frozen prison of agony.

Just when it appears
Winter is here to stay,
Radiant rays of fiery sun
Streak through the overcast skies.

Warm April showers thaw
The ice that blankets my heart,
And in its place,
A single flower blooms.

Trials and tribulations
May overcome my path,
But all I have to remember
Is spring will come again.
