The Older Flower Children

The Older Flower Children

A Poem by Botania
"

"
Somewhere in the garden sure
hides the lives that once were pure
Warned against their dereliction
seek a weed to know perfection.
Perfect was the life they're given
What they do must come from within.
'Though true blood within their veins
Red, white, blue a little gray?
Children of a country's past
learn from folly if they last.

we hope our children survive, and hope that they aren't too tainted by what came before....hopefully we have not ruined them with our misuse of values...

And some of us only wonder about the walk on the wild side. Forbidden to venture.
I really enjoyed this! Your poem was very thought provoking. "Children of a country's past learn from folly if they last" really made me think. Thank you for sharing with us! I hope to see more in the near future. :)
