Perfect Prom

Perfect Prom

A Poem by Miss Sally Sunshine
"

Yet again, dedicated to Rochelle :D

"

A door slams open

Out stumbles a couple

Coming for a breath of air

They are a dashing pair

Perfectly groomed

Not a hair out of place, and striking

Her dress matches

The dark gray

Of the forboding sky

Her date's dark suit

Blends in well with

The surrounding wood

Except for one tree

Standing alone,

Brillant and flaming

It's leaves bright

Red and orange

Wild and beautiful

The couple draws closer

He grabs her hand

And pulls her close

He starts to sway

To the erie waltz

Echoing from the gym

She smiles

This is everything

She has ever hoped for.

But, alas!

It starts to rain

She cries out and tries to run

"Stop!" the date cries.

He grips her hand

And pulls her back to him

"Don't Leave." he whispers.

"But the rain!" she exclaimes.

"You are beautiful." he tells her.

The rain sprinkles down

Catching on her dark tresses

And even darker eyelashes, lovely.

They start revolving again

Smiling like the fools they are

Completely smitten with on another.

And there they stay

In one anothers arms

In the sparkling rain drops
