Gingerly in love

Gingerly in love

A Poem by Golnazhg

Silent lover, will you remember me when you’re wild and grown?

When you fall in love with yourself more than any woman?

Silent lover--don’t forget the ambrosia we drank by rushing streams--

Or how we planned to run through overgrown thickets and shrubs,

Our feet pounding on the dirt, windswept hair and laughing mouths flashing at one another,

Like stars pulsing in darkness.

And silent lover; if I needed you to love me loudly, could you?

And will you remember how we fell in the brambles and thickets of star-crossed love?

Each unsure of how the other felt; darting past narrowed eyes and hissing tongues.

There is no flaw too terrible, too gruesome, too shocking or pathetic--there is no flaw, simply you--

In all your essence of being; simply you.

don’t hide your scars, bumps, wounds or bruises--if you think I am the sun,

let them bask in the sunlight.
