Moth-man

Moth-man

A Poem by Thaddius
"

I want to cite that 'dying of the light' poem from Interstellar (haha), because this has a few similar words and cadences. But, who has a monopoly on light, amiright?

"

Won't you fly to light, dear moth?

There's not another way for you to live.

I know you're new at this, and shiver

when I show you what you've missed

in feeble, infant blindness.

You spy the future,

but not a wing ahead,

the muck of eggs still guides your eye,

and soon, you'll flatten like the rest,

and turn to dust,

design, dear moth

Courting death instead of scuffing light.

On, without the sight,

catch it, trap the light,

thrust and gust and

galvanize and learn,

to try, to die,

to hurt, to burn!

Your dust will never serve you

if you stay alive

and what use are you, dear moth

if you can't use yourself?

oh, you were born to melt

to run like tar

not run away from what you are!

It's close, the light,

so do it now,

and do it right,

and tumble in

before you're ready
