Dear Friend

Dear Friend

A Poem by Grenadine Ida
"

This poem is as an appreciation of friendship

"

I was falling deep into a complete solitude

Tucking in a solemn deaf, blind, and mute
Intoxicated by selfishness seemed so cute
That I never made an effort
to refute

It was all about me
Who else could it be?
When all around was me
As far as I could see

Crouchin
g in the corner against the wall
My life bounced meaninglessly like a ball
Sealed without some
one around to call
Sprawlin
g in distraught like a soulless doll

Never crossed my mind
to have a friend
For I did not know how it felt to have one
But then
You came offering your hand
So I could climb up
and live in the sun

The 2nd stanza really hit me. Sometimes it can really seem like you're in a bubble of only yourself. For some reason, the font choice also speaks to me. It just flows so well with the rest of the poem. Really beautiful
