Nature - the harbinger of happiness

Nature - the harbinger of happiness

A Story by the_stoic

What’s the definition of a good life? is it about driving a car which gets stuck in traffic jams and irritates you or owning a comfy house located in a modern concrete jungle or giving your kids education wherein they never get to know and experience the fundamental elements which make up their existence ! I fail to understand as to how people say that they are living in a peaceful neighborhood and have a good home when they awake every morning to the honking of cars rather than the chirping of birds. it seems that people are forcing themselves to believe that the way in which they are living is the best ! Their mind creates a delusion that 'this is how things are meant to be' . Where is the happiness in a life where you are so engrossed in work that you don't have the time to appreciate the beauty around you. Being a part of the rat race will never bring solace to a troubled soul. Only Nature, the embodiment of the supreme creator , has the power to absorb all the negative energies and provide relief. Man was supposed to be amidst nature as a part of it . But he has alienated himself from nature and that is the root cause of the widespread inner dissatisfaction . It's the basic things in life that matter the most. The greatest joy lies in the simplest of things and not in the materialistic lavishness that people are made to believe. it saddens me today to see man destroying the very flora and fauna that we were meant to symbiotically exist with. No matter how much this human race achieves it'll eventually be at a loss. Listen to the natures call and tell me if it doesn't bring joy to your heart too! Signing off with a hope that some day soon human beings will realize their fault and revert back to respecting and preserving nature . Life is good only when we are good towards what has kept us in fine fettle through all these ages . Amen !

This is a truly wonderful piece of writing, so much thought and feeling's gone into it. This is you, this is how you are; I wish there were more people softly calling out these thoughts, not being afraid to say 'i've more than enough in my life, so now i'm going to go and watch the sun set'.

What we buy can be lost or stolen, what we feel stays with us always ..

Your words are true in this story. Man's need to be more logical. We need food to eat. Air to breath and water to drink. These are the real big three. If we don't change our ways. Man's maybe digging his own grave. I hope for better days. I pray for wisdom. I don't understand how the leaders of this world can't see beyond their hate and greed. Money won't mean much when there is no air or food to eat. A excellent story. You made me think.

Your right we were meant to exist in nature...not tear it down and pretend like were doing the right thing to survive life and live in the "concrete jungle" as you put it...I really liked this it was a great piece of writing...
