An Outcry

An Outcry

A Poem by I Cast a Shadow
"

If none of my poems are heard I hope for the sake of all of us this one concept gets through.

"
Turn off the lights.
Destroy the alarms.
Ring ring or rooster's crow?
Put up a glowing box that flickers;
Worship your new monolith.
Glowing and greasy they turn the gears.

Stomping skulls and ripping out jaws overseas,
Eternally till frozen useless debris
Until their pockets are ripe enough.
There is no escape
From the Light Bringers. . .

Let me live the way I want to;
Let me die the same.
All things are forgotten.
Some things never change.
