An Outcry *Revised*

An Outcry *Revised*

A Poem by I Cast a Shadow
"

My extended and structured version.

"
Turn off the lights the time has come
Destroy the alarm and beat the drum
Ring, ring, ring-ring or a rooster's crow?
Dismantle the cage;let nature go.

Erect a glowing box and view
Worship the new glowing god you grew
Glowing greasy they turn the gears
Tearing 'n Gnashing out the frontier years

Overseas-rhythm faded heart
Frozen useless debris in a mine cart
Stomping skulls, shaved prints, ears bleeding
Pierced eyes, burned nostrils, tongues for feeding

'Til their pockets are ripe enough
Their pockets are never ripe enough.
Our escape follows refusal;
Our refusal of the Light Bringers.

Let me live the way I want to
Let the later become the now
I can work hard but not for you
I will not allow them to allow.
