Memories

Memories

A Poem by earthtohannah

Why would you go,

Because now I can't tell you,

How much I

Love you

Miss you

Remember you.

I remember how it felt when you hugged me,

Secure,

Safe,

I took it for granted.

Looking back on the photos

Of when you held me,

The miniature me,

That I can't remember,

But you used to look so fondly on,

It brings tears to my eyes,

And a lump in my throat.

But now you're gone,

Flying through the air,

Every ash,

Every speck,

All gone now,

But me,

I will never forget.

And one day,

I promise,

I will see you again.

Among the rainbows of glass in the sky,

Where I will give you one last hug,

Before we leave.

Where I will tell you one last memory,

Before I say goodbye,

Forever.
