Lonely Roads

 

don't hold your breath any longer

it doesn't make you any stronger

like the waves in the ocean

it only creates a commotion

there's nothing wrong with a cry for help

you're only helping yourself

we all need a friend to help our broken hearts mend

but some battles we must face alone

we walk alone on the broken road

thousands of miles away from home

trying to do things on our own

because we don't know any better

searching for answers to the questions we hide inside

its okay to be afraid

but decisions must still be made

we create ourselves to become a character

but we want to be our own narrator

just when we think we've got it all figured out

our thoughts evade our minds

we then believe there is no more time

 walking on the lonely road

we have to search for each other  

because the only way to escape

is by helping one another

I like the internal thoughts in the poem. I agree with the above lines. Easy to heal with help. Sometimes we have no options. Must find peace within ourselves. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
