Tattoo

today I got a tattoo

a dream catcher

to help get rid of the memories of you

I know I can let go

no one really knows

but I know the truth

I know the real you

they seemed so surprised

said my pain tolerance was high

they don't know

but I know the truth

the blade felt just the same

my feelings I had to tame

so sharp against my skin

cutting through

removing memories of you

the feelings hidden

behind the pain

no one knows

I was slowly going insane

today I got a tattoo

a dream catcher

to help get rid of the memories of you

Your raw expression in your writing is amazing! My real father that I have never met is a full blooded Navaho and was born and raised on a reservation. I know a lot about native cultures and religious practices. The dream catcher is to get rid of evil spirits that want to steal your peace. Your faith is your strongest tool in life. Believe with Faith and God will see you through.

Coyote Poetry

I don't know if a dream catcher will stop memories. It will stop bad dreams. Tattoos are interesting. Always a good reason and a story for our tattoos. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
