Remembrance

Remembrance

A Poem by Hanna McGivern
"

This poem is a bit of a ramble and a bit of a soul-dump onto the page.

"

Alcoholic rain spits

on images dirtier

than last weeks trash.

Cloud my judgement and

east the ever present pain that is a stab

to the externally

wounded.

I never asked for a change,

a pass to restricted knowledge

exclusive to victims.

Drink away my past

hoping there won't be a next.

Futures uncertain with a

hint of rage tinted with

raw sores that bleed

with repetitive thoughts.

Numb me.

Cut me off.

Silence my haggard breath.

This burden didn't come with

a manual.

I will never forget.

It will never sink in.

The nagging agony deserves

to be drugged into submission.

Someone set me free from this

undignified agony.

It should be 'ease the ever present pain' not 'east'
