Reunion

There will be reunion

on this day.

A patch and repair

to all that was torn

so many years ago.

A coming together

that will bear witness

to better times,

to love and kindness,

friendship and joy

and strength of family

unsurpassed.

There will be a reunion

on this day

of great joy and excitement,

of frenzied happiness

that will last long after

the dishes have been washed

and the vows have dried,

and exhausted children

have been put to bed.

There will be a reunion

on this day.

A mending of hearts

…. life is good.

After being divorced for almost thirty years my parents will be remarrying on saturday in the presence of their children and grandchildren

I think the opening portion of this poem reads a bit like vows, possibly even a prayer. In either case, this poem speaks of renewed hope and happiness. You send a message that the heart and the soul can be mended no matter the age, and that love can be renewed even as we ripen in years. Judging by one of the other pieces I read by you, it seems that this occasion turned out to be quite a celebration. I'm glad!
