Ode to Darkness (A fragment)

O darkness, aloof messenger of dreams,
In whom nightly noises creep fleetingly home,
You share in my silence as would a friend.
Deep pools of emptiness seep into my eyes,
Catching the moonlight and starlight alike,
But still the night remains constant and free.
