Joy

Joy

A Poem by Khaaki

Happiness,

Must be chosen,

Among other ephemeral ardors…

Everything is relative,

Whether agitating or sedative…

How do we define joy?

Or even sorrow?

As both go together,

Not mutually exclusive,

Complimenting each other…

Light can be seen,

In different lights…

The candle is half burnt,

or half alive…

Intoxicate your heart,

Drink from the vessel of love,

The chalice is half brimmed,

Not half empty…

That's a beautifully written poem, I think the last stanza grabs the limelight.

. brilliantly expressed, haseeb ... these words are as humbling as they are hopeful ... there's o much to do ... there's so much we can do ... can't let trauma win ... won't let trauma win ... this light you send my way is cherished ...
