Fragile Mind

Fragile Mind

A Poem by Heather Rodwell
"

Insomnia, I call it. Some call it a sleepless night due to neighbours partying. I don't believe those people. I believe it's called insomnia.

"

The music is loud,
Banging in my head,
Disecting my ears.
The beat disturbs my mind
And is too loud for me
To concentrate.
I awake in silence
And can hear my breathing.
Drifting off again
To the noisy world of
       ..."so-called"...
Solitude.
The drums bring forth nausea
And my eyes flip open again.
Will there be no peace
Within my own mind?
Will my thoughts ever leave me
Alone?
Scream to take away the music
But silence escapes my lips.
Drifting off again,
I hope this is the last time.
Let this be the last.
