Desire

Desire

A Poem by Heather Rodwell
"

Not for the faint hearted

"

Soft, supple lips,
Clear, shining eyes.
The lovely warmth between your thighs
Sends shivers down your spine.
Your fingertips tremble
As they reach out to touch me.
I am not there
I'm in your head.
You touch my face
And kiss my eyes
And tell me what you're thinking of.
And when it's dark, and you're alone,
You scream my name
And grope into the blackness.
I am not there
I'm only in your head.
And thats the way it's going to be
Until the very end.

Hey, you are like a question master! Is this some kind of school exercise? lol

I recognised in it the feelings of desire so often felt but so seldom fulfilled... I felt that it presented one who knows her attraction but has no intention of responding , I saw that often what people desire is a fantasy not a reality...

Well this poem invoked desire and maybe lonliness. I love this poem for it is a poem that I am sure can mean different things for different people. The imagery was pure genius and format was wondeful. This is a beautiful piece of art I wouldnt change a thing about it.

I like this poem, it bring back some of those "Painful Memories." For real this poem invokes memories of love lost that was not ready to be lost yet, by the one left with the "Desire." Pictures and scenes from out of my own dreams; this is the images that I get from this poem,. Great Write! and keep up the good work.

I thought this, "The lovely warmth between your thighs
Sends shivers down your spine." might be better as "MY thighs sends shivers down your spine" I don't know anyone who gets excited from themselves...of course, I'm sure there are solo acts out there. lol It made me think the narrator was in a relationship and cut it short or had someone intensely interested in them but did not (nor have any intention of) returning those feelings.

This brought slight sadness to me. It made me thing of someone who maybe had never fount love, but had always wanted it, and they made something up in their head and they see and hear this person everywhere that they go. It gave me shivers.
