El Tri is the nickname for the Mexican flag, red, green and white. Also set in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Golden gray blue rays rise

from Mexican mountain tops

hiding sun that comes lit up

timeless like beige red roofs and church crosses.

 

The color green in tree leaves lives

for sun’s light and El Tri flies its eagle

waving with Oaxaca winds into new days

living energy squeezing calm love in me.

 

Bright blue sky blue turned by light

unlit at last day’s sun set

flies to my forest green eyes at sunrise

and whitely covers time less tan valleys.

 

A blanket fog of white sunlight

covers awaking Oaxaca

like smoke deludes from fire to sky

without a burn of coal or wood.
