Are You Missing Me?

Are You Missing Me?

A Poem by Soul Cemetery

I did not call you yesterday.

I wonder if you noticed?

As I lie here bleeding on the ground

I pray for your forgiveness.

All the words I said to hurt, to cut to harm, destroy,

how I wish I could take them back

and be with you safe and warm.

I remember how we laughed.

The jokes we planned and played.

The snuggled nights, the future plans,

all these will pass away.

Are you looking for me?

Or are you glad I've gone?

The day feels cold, its getting dark .

I lie here in the mud.

I never should have driven off whilst angry and confused

I just wanted to escape your taunts

the lies and the abuse.

Now as the wreckage covers me,

my tears slide down my face.

What I wouldn't give for another day

for just this one to be replaced.

My life painlessly ebbs away

The darkness settles in.

How long will I be hidden here

before the search begins?
