Bloody Rose

Bloody Rose

A Poem by Hector Kayel
"

Just some thoughts and feelings turned into words.

"

One by one

the rose loses its petals

As they fall they turn to ashes

scattered in the violent wind

Its thorns bled me

as I tried to give it to you

Red drops fell on the soil

giving its life back

Every single moment

the rose’s blood thirst grows

How much must I sacrifice to keep it alive?

If I fail and the wind defeats me

If my veins get dried

I will give an oath

I’ll swear this rose to be my last

Never again to bleed for a flower

Never to get hurt for blind hope
