Bloody RoseA Poem by Hector KayelJust some thoughts and feelings turned into words. One by one the rose
loses its petals As they
fall they turn to ashes scattered
in the violent wind Its thorns
bled me as I tried
to give it to you Red drops
fell on the soil giving its
life back Every
single moment the rose’s
blood thirst grows How much
must I sacrifice to keep it alive? If I fail
and the wind defeats me If my veins
get dried I will give
an oath I’ll swear
this rose to be my last Never again
to bleed for a flower Never to
get hurt for blind hope © 2014 Hector Kayel |
