A Brief Faith

A Brief Faith

A Poem by heido

God is not God

He is not the creator

He is not the how

He is the why

He is the way

I am pushed and pulled

A tug of war of conscience

I am the ebb and flow of good and evil

If I were not human

I would not strive for purity

I would not look for goodness

I would not recognise evil

I would not acknowledge filth

I would be the carnal

The basic

The nature of myself

All instinct and gore

Survive

F**k

Fight

Kill

Is it humane to be human?

Is humanity a symptome of my species?

Are we ill and conflicted?

Am I a direct contradiction of myself?

Mind vs. self

Do I create a God to guide my nature?

To keep in check my impulses?

A breif faith divides myself

Yes [sadly], you and I are a direct contradiction of ourselves.

And yet we reflect so nicely. :P

If I were not human... I would not recognize evil.

If we were perfect humans, we would not recognize evil. We would not have the knowledge of Good and evil, only Good.

Is it humane to be human? No. Humanity has been perverted and cannot be trusted. So, yes, we are ill and conflicted.

Am I a direct contradiction of myself? Yes. God created us to be innocent and pure. We are not that anymore. We have the knowledge of Good and evil. We recognize our will separate from God's. Yes [sadly], you and I are a direct contradiction of ourselves.
