Comfort

Comfort

A Poem by heido

Tentative hands made slight gestures

You wound your hand around my waste

Your heart quickened

I will not say no

You hold me out of a profound love

I cling out of a deep need

A need for you to love me

A need for you to see me

You have found a way to let me sleep

To run your fingers along the lines of my cheeks

Give me tenderness and intimacy

Let me be rested and secure

The nights fades way to sleep

A dreamless thing that is a haven to my heart

I wake to a cautious feeling

Curling into your shoulder I am given to smiles

Giggling endlessly with no expectations

I will hold this morning as the best since him

The first time I wake next to a man

Without thinking it will never be like him

You give me a release from a love that used to free me

Now it binds and twists and my heart is tied to my stomache

A sick thing barely beating

Salvation in your friendship

Comfort in your arms

I love you ever more

As I always have

As a man I can't really imagine that emotion that women have but this definitely paints a fairly interpretable picture, even for a guy.

I thought this was so sweet. The comfort in the arms of someone you love must feel pretty amazing like you've shown here. I enjoyed reading it, thanks for sharing.
