Eidolon

Eidolon

A Story by Michael Drew

"....I'm tired."

Just relax we can bring it back...

Bring what back?

"Why can't I...move?". Something is slithering around my arm, just at the crook. There is a terrible constricting there. I am unable to turn and look. I feel a drip of moisture just there. Its freezing.
I am aware of something gathering, just behind me. It seems as though it is trying to slip away...what?

It's gotten free! Luther,  go after it, if you lose it, he dies.

Someone moved from my side. I cannot look to see whats happening.

I don't think its a good idea just now for you to try moving or speaking. Somethings gone wrong. This might hurt a bit...  Light pressure then I feel a sting as something enters my vein sending a rapid burning up my arm and into my chest.

"Please, don't let it get closer! I don't want that thing near me! Why can't I f*****g move?!"

Something was out there. Just out of the corner of the eye but fading in and out like it was in two worlds at once. A glimmer here, more solid on it's side of the curtain. A mere haze of color awash in the blackness I could feel devouring me. No, thats not what I'm seeing. Can't be. We proved it didn't exist.....didn't we?

Evolution 101.

Bullshit
