Autumn with a Side of Guilt

Autumn with a Side of Guilt

A Poem by E.j.aka.Hannah

Sammy, I cant even start to remember

Why oh why Im so sad.

Was it something I planned,

was it something I said,

was it something time made true.

All I want from these words are some

consolation prize,

a tear in the eye

of the statue that cries.

Im a nostalgic mess

when I walk along this beach,

the pristine sand washes away under my toes,

the lies, the songs, the accusations,

washing away like my tears in a snow storm.

Crying and sighing

I hear the guitars,

I see all the flames and I dont like these chains,

they keep me from running

they keep me from hiding,

when I wish I could fly

on those bone crossed sails,

drinking the grave,

screaming the songs.

Wishes are for quitters,

I never do give up.

I know what you do,

Your rituals are mine,

I smile when you scream,

You cry with my conjoles.

Dance on the waves

with the sirens and cry,

they take you away to a watery grave...

Im jealous.....
