My Girl Friday...

My Girl Friday...

A Poem by E.j.aka.Hannah
"

another song.

"

The Blues are a gift,

not really much of a curse,

why dont you smile more often,

and dance in the waves like you used to?

The sunset and the moon are in a lovers quarrel

Im grinning around like a zombie at play,

So just crawl around on

our hands and knees

lets let the crowd take charge of it all

and skip in the flames like the Jesus of old.

In the purple morning breeze

I feel my grandmas touch

I smell my moms perfume,

and my heart belongs to my girl Friday,

shes never ever lost a fight.

Our arms entwined,

Joey and I danced on the beaches sands,

and I killed the night with an iron fist,

you remind my baby when he calls,

when you smile,

all the pain fades away.

The payphones dial tone is out of time,

Your voice is part of my hearts static,

some hearts are prisons,

others are poison,

most are just dead,

In the purple morning breeze

I feel my grandmas touch

I smell my moms perfume,

and my heart belongs to my girl Friday,

shes never ever lost a fight.

I love this verse, I can hear it as a song in my head. A very well written piece. Nicely done.
