The Forgotten Past

The Forgotten Past

A Poem by E.j.aka.Hannah

I left with a call, not so long ago,

Thinking this was goodbye,

I thought youde never know,

I thought Ide forget,

Within a month or two,

But the honest truth is,

my mind is haunted by you.

Your smile is my favorite thing,

Your voice is an anthem to which I sing,

Your eyes were deep, brown and soft,

Your arms hard, protective...

I felt so safe.

I watch you as you play,

of vinyls and cars and shining stars,

I envy the bass you hold so lightly,

my body aches...hug me tightly...

The radio echoes through my room,

I wander through our photos,

and wonder if its true,

Do you think of me,

as often as I think of you?
