Remember the Best.

Remember the Best.

A Poem by E.j.aka.Hannah

He had blue eyes and long hair,
a dozen tattoos graced him everywhere,
He lit a cigarrette between dry lips,
and he drove away into the light without a care.

You and that old Pontiac,
You drove that crazy thing like a maniac,
And you wished on the movie stars
You listened faithfully to the classics
And my mind drifts back to an easier time

With the white top down,
The wind running through our hair,
Your 96 rocket ship, as we snuck slyly away,
The schools man never had a word to say,
I can recall, the freedom I felt and all
The kisses you planted as we sank into the bay.

She fell in love with an Irish boy,
He was my best friend,
And as she drove in the front with him,
I snuggled with you in the back,
The music played through the open land,
and we stopped at the pub to kiss in the sand.

Bobby Joe and I were perfect,
a cute couple were we,
Then he realized I wasnt so perfect,
and so he ran, without me.
Even now with that song,
I cant help but feel my mind,
Travel back to that easier time.
