Sweater Weather

Sweater Weather

A Poem by Crowley
"

I love me some sweater season!!!

"

A bare midriff where her favorite black sweater was bunched

Her belly button a crescent, a sliver of moon, waning, sexy

Soft autumn skin losing the summer bronze and making way for ghosts

Asleep on the couch as I come in from a long day on the road

I sit in the recliner and watch her breathing, natural breasts, no bra

Just the way breasts should look in a sweater, am I disappointing you

The fact that I spend so much time on the breasts, I can’t help it

Her hair falls loosely between them, the blackest shade, highlighted by lamplight

Her lips are slightly parted, pink lips today and utterly kissable

I think of the taste of that mouth after a glass of red wine and chocolate

Those blue eyes, hidden beneath slightly twitching lids as she slumbers

I was never a match for them, coming undone at the seams with a sideways glance

She stirs

“I didn’t hear you come in.”

“Go back to sleep.”

“Sorry was I snoring?”

“No love, just purring.”
