In the Umbra

In the Umbra

A Poem by A.A.Romanczuk

In the umbra, under the jade umbrella of swaying boughs gilded

Regally with blurred citrine rays and sultry scarlet lipstick stains

I extract your rosebud smiles, chase the shadows that tango

Across the soft angles of your countenance, paint watercolor

Kisses upon your sari silk lips etching myself into your arms

As we distill the words of men more sagacious and inhale the

Poetry of the present.
