Waves of Pain

Waves of Pain

A Poem by A.A.Romanczuk

Waves of pain carry me
Into a state of utter oblivion
Oceans have flooded the earth
Flowing from the streams in my heart
I feel as if there were fires burning within my head
As if needles were stuck into every inch of my body
Concentration retreats
Like a butterfly with smashed wings
Aware of its death swiftly coming
I flutter the remnants of those rainbow organs
Only to feel more pain

...
. brutally beautiful and immensely excruciating and yet exquisite ...

the waves
the sea
and the night sky
the octaves
the breeze
the sty in my eye

soaked in pain
they barely breathe
as i watch
and wonder
about the end

only to realize
the end of pain
would be
the end of life
