A Break Up Poem

A Break Up Poem

A Poem by Fate Serenity

Forget that song you wrote for me
Forget that you were once my fantasy
Forget my number, don't text me again
Forget that we once had a special something
Tear up all those photos of us together
Burn everything I gave you along with my letters
Ignore me when you see me on the streets
Don't try to look and hope that our eyes will meet
Pretend we never met on that campfire party
Pretend I was never a part of your history
Pretend you do not care if we break apart
Pretend I have never had a place in your heart
All I'm saying is that we'll be complete strangers
We won't give a care if we still see each other
You have your own life, and I'll have mine
We'd soon regret saying 'I love you' the last time
Instead remember the time you ignored my apology
When you kissed that girl in front of me
When you actually forgot that it was our anniversary
When you pushed me so hard because you got angry
You accused me of lying but I never did anything
You threatened to kill me if you caught me cheating
You don't know anything about what completes me
You are possessive and enjoys your own vanity
This a poem I'd like to impart
To all the people with broken hearts
Breaking up is a part of love
But it helps you realize if it'll make you smile or sob
