Ants and the Cosmic Toilet

Ants and the Cosmic Toilet

A Poem by H.L. Cerveise
"

This was written for a virtual world friend after a discussion with her. In that world I go by many names; however, Legion is the combined entity which encompasses all of them.

Ants and the Cosmic Toilet

Yes, the cosmic toilet hovers over all.

The great spirit/spirits sit above it all.

They rain down their dark matter.

Below and inside the toilet little ants scurry.

Some ants see themselves trapped at the bottom of a dark hole.

They are submerged in dark matter.

They eek out their very existence on what little good they can find.

Life is dark/dire/depressing/hard.

They bred faster than they die.

So they are many but they feel powerless.

Other ants see themselves surrounded in pure white porcelain.

Gold encrusted trim mesmerizes them.

The dark matter is there but diluted in fluid.

They gulp in as much of the fluid as they can.

They think they control the toilet.

They feel the fluid that engulfs the dark matter makes it better.

Their numbers are few compared to the ants in the dark hole.

They think they have power, but they are deluded.

Ah, but one ant has seen/sees both.

He has been in both.

He knows others have seen what he has seen.

However, he sees with his mind's eye something strange.

There are as many views of the cosmic toilet as there are ants.

He sees groups of ants that see a common cosmic toilet.

We see one true great spirit.

We believe in many great spirits.

We are the great spirits.

We will become the great spirits.

We think there are no great spirit/spirits.

We don't care if there are great spirit/spirits.

He sees the list as endless.

Even more than that he sees ones that no one else sees.

Then he realizes they are all the same.

There is only one cosmic toilet over all.

He thinks others must also see this, but he can't find them.

Nevertheless, he can't see clearly what it is and what is above.

It vibrates with a shimmery energy just out of focus.

He decides he must find out.

He starts to climb and claw his way out and up.

It is steep and slippery.

He falls back into the muck from time to time.

He tries to see if others are also climbing, but he is not sure.

He persists and resists the urge to give up.

Finally, he reaches the top.

To his amazement, he sees.......

Epilogue by Legion:

The views expressed in the above poem are not necessarily the views of Legion, but only a part and influenced by outside energy waves so any conclusion/confusion reader reaches are not to be blamed on Legion or any part of Legion. Even so, then again, Legion knows he speaks with many voices and rarely agrees totally on anything so Legion wonders why the reader needed his clarification on this? To sum it all up Legion would like to say dark matter happens, not sure why or what it means, but it just happens.
