a short first chapter of my story Seven Summers

If they could have predicted what would happen that summer, I wonder if they would have still ventured away from their everyday lives, which would soon be changing anyway, to experience the very good and the very bad happenings that occurred. They entered the summer, and the cabin, with no knowledge as to what would happen to them, between them, and inside them. They came with nothing, just grades on paper and homes they no longer lived in and a each a back story that explained why they were like they were. They came as seven friends with feelings for each other quite different from friendship. They came with nothing but did they need anything else anyway? If they could have known what was to happen that summer, I wonder if they would have still gone ahead with everything that happened. It wasn’t all bad.
