A Taylored Story of Love in Lewis

A Taylored Story of Love in Lewis

A Poem by Dano

I lost myself to the road
A bigger city a different sky
I ran from my present
Across mountains through forests
I found the sea
The future she was waiting
Unknown to me in the dark I stayed
My tattered heart buried
Left in the town I ran from
I thought I could succeed
Thought I could stand on my own
I was wrong
I didn't sense the fall or
Didn't care to notice
I was growing colder
My time alone was building
She found me in a world of fabric
The future that was waiting for me
Interest over came me
I saw her steal glances of me
The way she spoke
She was intoxicating
I felt for her a feeling I thought lost
She was lightning in a bottle
At that moment in a river of clothes
She was my future
I couldn't have known
I hadn't left my heart in the past
She was carrying it with her
Always with her
Just as I held hers
Carrying it with me
Through the forest to the sea
To the future waiting for us
It was her
It could only ever be her
