The Farewell

The Farewell

A Poem by hoppy

This is my farewell

Though I’m sure you don’t care

Not sure if you can tell

This life I can’t bear

You were my one and only

Sad you’ve become so blind

I’ve never felt so lonely

You are always on my mind

Don’t forget me

I’ll carry your memory to my grave

Please forgive me

It’s time for you to be brave

This is my final farewell

Love is all I could ever want

Please do not dwell

I shall now begin my jaunt

Sad! But then are not all goodbyes?

Painful and sad ... truly the human condition. As a poem it comes together well.
