Astrophobia

Astrophobia: Fear of stars.

When I look into the sky
They wink down at me
A promise that they’re watching
But I don’t want them to

 

They follow me
Every night
I try to avoid them
With all my might
But they always find me

 

People say they’re magical
But I just don’t understand
Whose to say they won’t one day
Devour our own land
What's magical about that?

Author's Note

I was looking through a list of phobias and this one caught my eye. Usually you hear people say all these wonderful things about the stars, so it's a little odd to think that someone might be afraid of them. I might do some more of these. :3

Wow, what an original poem and a great subject. I could imagine being scared of black holes but not stars. Although I guess if our star, the sun gets too hot that would be scarey. Would be interested to read more of these.

I've never heard about someone being afraid of stars.... That's so trippy. Stars really are beautiful. Your poem was really good! It held the fear of someone who is scared the stars might fall out of the sky or something... I think it would be cool to have more of these! Write on :]

Fear of stars xDDD I really liked it, it was kind of cute in a weird sort of way- reminds me of my "arachnophobia" poem, I was gonna do a series like that too, but....Eh, I lost interest xD You should totally do it though, it'd be really cool- You can one about being afraid of clowns XDD
