If Only

If Only

A Poem by Lexi Nicole
"

If only we could just join hands and sing about the world.

"

If only we could all join hands
And sing about the world
And see the beauty in the differences
Listen to all the languages
Realize that no matter what
We’re all the same inside
If only we could hear our hearts beat
All together, as one
And forget about the wars
The bombs, the words, the slurs
And just join hands
And sing about the world
Because differences are beautiful
And make us who we are
But inside each one of us
Is the same crimson blood

Though this is a very beautiful, very inspiring, and very well-written piece, I find it a bit cliche. That doesn't mean that I like it any less, it just means that I don't get a feeling of originality that every poem should have. Good piece overall, I don't really have any criticism for it except for it being cliche.
Then again, that's just my opinion. Listen to it or not, because this is your poem, not mine :]
