Let Go

Let Go

A Poem by Lexi Nicole
"

Don't hold my hand; let go, let go.

"

Let go, let go, let go
I don’t love you
I don’t know you
So can’t you let me go?

What is it that you see in me?
What is it that I did
To make you reach out for my hand
And follow me all around?

Isn’t friendship just enough
For people like you and I?
Let go, let go, let go
So I can say goodbye

You’re not the one
You just can’t be
So won’t you just let me be

Leave me alone
I don’t want you
Don’t hold my hand
Let go, let go
Don’t hold me close
Let go, let go

You don’t know me
So just let go
We’ll just be friends
That seems okay
Cause we’re only friends
At the end of the day

This is really good, and mean! Lol, but great nevertheless. Sometimes it is just that simple.

I agree, the simplistic tone makes this poem interesting to read. I like how the last few lines rhyme, it kind of ties it together. Great work, as always :)

Ah, this is really good. Well thought lines; good contradiction. The best thing about it is the simplicity of the tone. Good one.
