Are You Crying?

Are You Crying?

A Poem by Lexi Nicole
"

"Are you crying, love?" is what he would have asked.

"

He couldn’t help but notice
As she turned to walk away
Her eyes were glistening with tears
Her emotions led astray

“Are you crying, love?”
Is what he would have asked
If only she had loved him
If only she gave him the chance

But she walked away too quickly
Her heart heavy with the pain
Leaving him bewildered
Standing in the rain

She threw out all her journals
Burned all of her books
She tossed away his photograph
Scared to have another look

She went dancing with a painter
A writer took her to a show
A singer played her endless love songs
But she let her true love go

She saw him in the theater
She saw him the park
She wished he was beside her
While she laid lonely in the dark

She conjured up his face at night
She saw him in her dreams
She wondered where he was right then
If he was watching the stars gentle gleams

“Are you crying, love?”
Is what she would have asked
If she could have seen him
If she had another chance

I liked this, but I think you should expand on why the girl left in the first place, just a little. Like, one stanza would do it xD I like the way you started off with the guy though, and then switched to the girl. Gave it a nice feel. Good work :)
