A dusty new book~

A dusty new book~

A Poem by hoyt
"

pondering thoughts of bringing words to life....

"
I picked up the old dusty book
   Thought I'd take another look.
With words it sought to life explain,
An effort valiant though in vain....
What's joy, love, hurt and pain?
That circles round and back again.
Such vaulted thoughts to wrap with words,
As restless as glass trapped birds,
Words made of lines and curves and dots,
                 Reducing worlds to man-held spots..
But alas as a bird does find,
A hole in the glass behind the blind,
Bursting free in the sun and winds,
         Dimensions birthed, words life begins,
In awe I yearn for others to look,
.....perhaps I’ll write it in a book...

A lovely lyrical poem Hoyt. I particularly was drawn to the two lines "But alas as a bird does find,/A hole in the glass behind the blind" very evocative image

thanks for the great read

This is so very good, I really enjoyed the rhyme scheme through out.

Very good rhyming, metric integrity and imagery in this one. Made me think at times of the 17th century English poets.
