![]() A Review of "Hatchet", by Gary PaulsenA Story by BlueShadow“Hatchet”, by Gary Paulsen, a review The book Hatchet, written by Gary Paulsen, was an interesting book about a boy’s plane ride and the plane’s crash landing in a remote forest. It focuses on the boy’s need to survive in the wilderness using crude survival tools, his mind, and the natural resources that surrounded him. Hatchet was a beautiful, informative, unique, and creative book that made me think about all the things I have at home and am blessed with. The boy, Brian, is young and has to explore the wilderness and survive in it all on his own. Hatchet was a very riveting book full of suspense, exhilaration, and intrigue. Hatchet was a very thrilling book to read because it was about Brian’s survival all alone amidst trees. I empathized with Brian and wondered what it would be like to be in the wilderness all on my own with no one else to help me. Brian’s survival is extremely interesting to read about and is remarkable to think about because he has to rely on his wits in a scary environment. If you want to read about someone’s survival in a scary time and place this is a book that will truly capture your emotions and make you ponder about your luxuries and comforts that you might take for granted. Gary Paulsen is an excellent writer who writes using accurate and appropriate vocabulary, literary devices, and a shrewd mind. Hatchet was about 19 chapters long and was very interesting to read and think about. I greatly enjoyed the book. © 2023 BlueShadow |
