The Hummingbird

The Hummingbird

A Poem by BlueShadow

The hummingbird hovered near the tree

Spotting its next meal was going to be free

It flew near the oak tree

There was a wonderful and delicious seed

The bird ate it with its super hard beak

It was so happy and filled with glee

The hummingbird loved its meal today

It was a beautiful day in late May

The hummingbird thought life was bliss

A car came by and rain came down

The thunder crashed and the world gave the bird a kiss

The hummingbird died and felt saddened

No more was there anyone to miss

The hummingbirds are an example of nature's best and I assure you that I at least, will miss each unfortunate mini-helicopter.
