Crippled FugitiveA Poem by DilettanteThis poem describes the harsh surroundings of a Syrian refugee
Seized with grief,
We lived death not life, Not a morsel to eat, Grass was how we survived, We wandered desperately, And sang in pain, The world wet in our please, Drowned in our call, HELP!! HELP!!! But then, There came along a ray of hope, A boat to Greece, A journey to life!!!, Hidden from the world, We did not disclose the key we had, Our possessions lost, Along with many life's , Yet , Yet I smuggled my teddy, Who else would I talk to at night? I didn't know the waves would be cruel too, I was the only one who survived, Yet , Yet I held on to the ray of hope, Determined to meet Utopia , On the land of flaws , Determined to make my parents proud... © 2017 Dilettante |
