Man + woman

Man + woman

A Poem by Kelsey B.

A man is created not as a beast,

but as a boy.

And will the boy ever realize his mistakes,

or will he forever remain that boy?

A woman is not created as an enemy to the man,

but as a girl.

And will that girl ever realize her misgivings,

or will she forever remain that girl?

What happens when boy meets girl?

Boy is hurtful and mistreating;

he's sure the girl sees his view

of a playful good time...

But girl sees it differently.

What happens when girl meets boy?

She puts all of herself out there for boy,

then changes her ways to a tease and a flirt;

she's sure the boy sees her view of a playful good time...

But boy sees it differently.

Boy is offended and his ego is hurt.

Boy finds new girl to promote and provoke

girl's jealousy of the sort,

But girl sees his game.

They're teenagers, you see

Their pubescent instincts drive them,

Girl gives him his own medicine.

Girl finds a new boy to promote and provoke

boy's jealousy of the sort,

But boy sees her game.

Many a day pass with no conversation,

no friendly gestures between them,

But low and behold;

What becomes of them when they're single again?

Boy sees girl one day;

Girl smiles and boy smiles back.

They talk and joke as if

Nothing's changed.

Boy leans in closer and

girl doesn't stop him.

A kiss errupts between

the locked lips of boy and girl.

Next day, it seems, though many years later,

Boy and girl stand parallel at the altar.

Boy recites vows;

Girl gives promises.

Boy leans in closer

and girl doesn't stop him.

A kiss errupts between

the locked lips of man and woman.

A man is not created as a beast,

but as a boy.

A woman is not created as an enemy to the man,

but as a girl.

And what happens when boy meets girl?

Boy and girl,

become man and woman.

I like the idea of the poem.
I think the repetition of boy and girl is redundant though.
It has a lot of potential just needs to edited a little. :D
