Ray

Ray

A Poem by Frankie Nguyen

I remember the days
I'd dreamed for a brother
older than me
there when I needed a friend
"That won't ever happen"
is what I was told

Then I found out
that I was right
I did have a brother
his name was Ray

you died so young
only a few hours old
I never met you
but, you know me

I often wonder
what you would be like
how would you look
would you look like dad
or maybe your mom
would you be a sports guy
or an artist like me

I wish I had met you
to know my brother
but, what won't be now
but, I'll see you soon

Wow this is incredible, I know exactly what you are trying to portray in this poem.
I will forever have these questions in my mind as well unfortunately I have to add one more. Where you a brother or a sister? My mom had a miscarriage like a year after she had me...

this reminds me of an amazing story...
the beginning of life in the japan disaster
a baby found unharmed in the rubble of destroyed buildings
his name became ray
to symbolize light in dark times
I must be reading this poem in the wrong way but it reminds me of beauty and life rather then the death portrayed
