The Dive

The Dive

A Poem by Erin

Sheen of Silk
My Skin lit from Within,

Transluscent and Thin as a Paper Wrapper.
Fold up as easy as a Marionette:
Hands wrap Shoulders,

Knees into Breast,

Head tilt Forward
And Somersault over The Edge.
Still Glowing.
Still contrast to The Dark.
Edges start to Feather
And Lines start to Blur.
Shuddering Breath.
Nails dig into Shoulders
And My eyes close Harder.
A Wish
A Dream
A Moment.
The Glory AND The Horror.
My Heart Races
And The Feeling is thrown into my every Nook and Cranny.
I Know What To Do.

Gracefully I Extend until I'm
Light as a Feather, Lithe as One Too.
Hands dancing above My Head
And I Twist, Spinning and Turning

And Feeling exalted in The Moment.

I Cut Through The Surface Head First.

Author's Note

Erin
I did have a problem with the last line.
I debated 'Break' 'Cut' 'Slide' and others.
