One last cut

One last cut

A Poem by Rose

Will I die like everyone else?

Illegible words on an eroded stone,

A faded name on a crumbling page,

Will I be remembered?

Is today my last?

Will I breathe again?

I hope in these last days,

My words may finally mean something.

Has it all been a waste?

My bones will break,

My skin will burn,

Will this be all that is left after my soul is gone?

A sheer drop between life and death awaits,

An abyss of darkness beyond this veil of tears,

One last word and one last pain before I go,

It rings through the silence.

That was brilliant! Are you sure you're only 11?? That can't be possible. I loved the use of questions in this piece. Keep writing.

Ouch. Nice one.
You pretty much captured how I was feeling.
Thanks.

This is so raw, so real.

A sheer drop between life and death awaits,
An abyss of darkness beyond this veil of tears,
One last word and one last pain before I go,
It rings through the silence.

These lines are truly magnificent.
Well done Rosy. This is truly brilliant.
