if wishes were..

i wish i could fly
leap high in the air
and catching the right wind,
just continue in an upward arc
i wish i could disappear
find the most comfortable spot
and just sit in quiet anonymity
alone with only my observation and thought
i wish i could dive into the sea
swimming deeper
and only stopping when i felt the ocean floor
never needing to take one breath
i wish i were a sorceress
snapping my fingers to complete even the hardest tasks
and when in need of food or distraction,
i could wave my wand to summon
my heart’s desire
i wish i could divine
that which defines
my deepest heart's desire
it ever so defiantly
escapes and at the very same time
defines the me that is me
